So I pretty much had the same trash during the weekend because i am not in the dorm for both Saturday and Sunday.
This is what I have when I cleaned my room (we had a room expectation on Monday, so....)
So as you could see, I used a big amount of tissues.... which are cause by my bad cold and those are really easy to deal with because it would only take them 2 weeks to resolve.
But for the plastic bottles, it would take up to hundreds years to resolve which are environmental non friendly. In US,the recycling rate for different types of plastic varies greatly, resulting in an overall plastics recycling rate of only 9 percent, or 2.8 million tons in 2012. The recycling rate for some plastic products is higher but still could not say anything good about the U.S waste problem, for example in 2012, 28 percent of HDPE bottles and 31 percent of PET bottles and jars were recycled which means there would be nearly 70 percent of plastic trash could not be recycled each year. More depressingly, we are all the sinners who made this number.
WAYS to deal with this:
Add more access to water on street; therefore, if people carry their own bottles, they could get water as any time as they want.
Encourage people to carry back a large amount of water in one box, so they would not buy small water bottles for each time.
Another kind of trash is fruit trash which I just found out a terrific way to resolve it. Put it underground and it could enrich the soil. So next time if I have any kind of trash from vegetables or fruits, I would burry them underground.
